“ I am a long time local in the Rosebud area. On the weekend I had friends over from out of town and I took them to the Hideout. It’s been a while but you know what the food is consistently great, the toast thick, presentation near perfect and served with a smile. What more could one ask for; and no surcharge on weekends like some other places and better pricing. Keep up the great work team it’s given my friends an experience to take home. ”

The food was some of the best we have had in a cafe in a long time! We had the Double Beef Burger and the Thai Chicken Salad - both were exceptional! Their coffee/chai was spot on too! “ The newly renovated outdoor area is fantastic, generous space for kids to play with a lot of considered details. They’ve even added covered seating space outdoors. It’s one of the only cafés in the area that really caters to children, so you can relax while they play. Food and coffee are great too, the breakfast chilli eggs special was a standout. ”

“ It was the morning after a cousin's wedding and we needed a good breakfast. After checking Google for options, we decided on The Hideout. It was a good choice. My porridge was nice, wish I could have had more of it, my wife enjoyed her pancakes. My Mrs Coffee & my Mocha were both great. Overall a good decision for a cold/windy breaky. Afterwards we went for a very windy walk along the pier opposite the store. ”

“ Dropped into this family friendly cafe whilst on holidays in the area. We enjoyed the beautiful courtyard out the back with kids cubby for our little ones to enjoy. The service was lovely and food was quick to arrive. Everything was tasty and fresh. Toilets are available inside the venue. Parking is on street and timed. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for good food, good coffee and a safe space for the little ones to run around whilst waiting for their meal. ”

“ Despite being busy on a Saturday & having a large indoor and outdoor area to cover, the food and ecspecially all of the staff were great! Coffee also amazing and generous mugs. Cannot fault anything. So nice to see thorough order taking (read our order back) & noted all of our fussy food preferences. Nothing was to much trouble. And friendly, smiling faces *5 stars from myself and my family Tried; coffee, english brekky tea, green smoothie, eggs your way with reasonably priced add one (mushroom, spinach, tomatoes), amazing omelette with spinach, tomato, mushrooms, parmesan & tasty cheese, rocket, herbs. Chilli scrambled eggs, all delicious, served hot and great serving sizes. ”

“ At first glance, The Hideout Eat Drink Play appears to be a small café, but stepping inside revealed a surprisingly spacious venue with a welcoming atmosphere. There is even a lovely outdoor courtyard, which unfortunately was under renovation during our visit but promises to be perfect for sunny days. Despite our large group arriving close to the end of meal service, the staff kindly accommodated us without hesitation—something we greatly appreciated. Our meals were served promptly, arriving fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. Not a single complaint was heard from anyone in our group. The coffees we ordered afterward were just as impressive—smooth, rich, and perfectly made. The venue itself was spotless, with the kitchen in clear view and exceptionally clean. The service was outstanding; the staff were attentive, friendly, and professional, making us feel genuinely welcome. It was the perfect way to wrap up our weekend getaway, and we’ll certainly be back again soon. Thank you to the team for such a memorable experience!
